A new version has been introduced with several enhancements and bugfixes.
The main problem is that this software relies on user contributed plugins to handle webmails correctly however newest plugin requires version 0.2.6 and refuses to work on 0.2.5, so pop download is not working anymore if some isp changed their webmail like eg. hotmail.com which is doing that frequently.

1. please include freepops 0.2.6 in portage

Doesn't look like the ebuild needs to be changed for this version, just copying the existing one to freepops-0.2.6.ebuild and updating the digest/manifest should do the trick. (I tried it on an overlay, and it's working fine for me)
