Description Sebastian L. 2007-11-17 13:41:46 UTC
when receiving jabber messages from gaim/pidgin (and apparently others), messages are displayed double, e.g. other client sends "hello world", message gets displayed as "hello worldhello world".

upstream bug describes this further (see url) and provides a patch/fix.

i'll happily test new ebuilds on this issue.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. get jabber messages from gaim/pidgin client

Thank you for report, Sebastian. Fixed in sim-0.9.4.3-r1.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-18 13:15:50 UTC
 * net-im/sim-0.9.4.3 contains icons and sounds with unclear licensing and thus
 * you have to download and it put into /usr/portage/distfiles by yourself.
 * Download location:

 * http://download.berlios.de/sim-im/sim-0.9.4.3.tar.bz2
		mirror://gentoo/sim-0.9.4.3-r1919_1924.patch.bz2

The second one kinda quite sucks for users... :/

Comment 6 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-29 21:27:46 UTC
And the patch went MIA from mirrors. You either need to whitelist this so that it doesn't get purged or kill the RESTRICT.
Comment 7 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-30 10:03:27 UTC
Jakub, what do you mean by white list? Did you mean dev.gentoo.org:/space/distfiles-whitelist/current/ ? If so then IIUC the patch will be removed in 6 months and it's better to put file on dev.gentoo.org/~pva/...

Could you tell me where do I get the file sim-0.9.4.3-r1919_1924.patch.bz2 from?
Comment 9 Peter Volkov (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-05 20:07:45 UTC
Just moved patch into dev.gentoo.org. You should be able to download it from there...
