Description Stefan Behte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev Security 2007-11-12 23:22:33 UTC
In /etc/named.conf:
        listen-on { 192.168.0.2; 127.0.0.1; };

I added named to "default" with rc-config, BUT after a reboot, bind only listens on 127.0.0.1. After /etc/init.d/named restart, it works as expected. net.eth0 is also in default should it be in boot? I'm a little confused.
I do not consider
echo "/etc/init.d/named restart" >> /etc/local.start
as a solution.

BTW: I do not use dhcp on eth0.
Comment 1 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-11-13 00:10:54 UTC
emerge --info please. Also, does it actually start before net, or what exactly happens?
Comment 2 Stefan Behte (RETIRED) gentoo-dev Security 2007-11-13 18:50:24 UTC
And yes, bind starts before net.eth0.
