Not Gnome. Also, see http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml on hints how to get a _useful_ backtrace. First, I tried different versions of mail-notification available in the portage, but they crash exactly the same. This is the backtrace I got after following the instructions on the web page you pointed out. First, I recompiled mail-notification like this: CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O1 -ggdb" CXXFLAGS=${CFLAGS} LDFLAGS="" USE="debug" FEATURES="nostrip" emerge -1 mail-notification And I got the following bug-report: #0 0xb7fc9410 in __kernel_vsyscall () #1 0x41100788 in connect () from /lib/libpthread.so.0 #2 0x08081bb5 in mn_client_session_run () #3 0x0000006e in ?? I mean backtrace from gdb.
I'm afraid that this will be very hard to debug without a reproduceable case (and mail-notification works fine for me). I've also checked upstream's bug database, and there are a few possible bugs that may be the same as this one although the backtrace is not quite similar. I'm closing this bug because we can't do much about it without more information. |
