Bug 196970

Summary: [glibc/locale] sys-libs/glibc-2.6.1 uses roman numbers for month in pl_PL

Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE

Description Krzysztof Walo 2007-10-24 22:05:58 UTC
After upgrading to the version 2.6.1 of glibc, I get date in different date format, than in previous version. There are roman numbers, instead of month names. This causes some applications not to work properly, because they get date in different format, than expected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to reproduce:
1/ Emerge glibc with Polish language
2. Add line 'pl_PL.UTF-8 UTF-8' to /etc/locale.gen and run locale-gen

Actual results:
$ LC_ALL=pl_PL.UTF-8 date
Śr, 24 X 2007, 23:58:29 CEST

Expected results:
$ LC_ALL=pl_PL.UTF-8 date
Śr, 24 paź 2007, 23:58:29 CEST

There should be three letter symbol of month, instead of a roman number.

And part 2 - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=242296

Fixed in 2.7 anyway.
