Hi,

there's a new patch for xchat-2.8.4 from upstream: http://www.xchat.org/files/source/2.8/patches/xc284-improvescrollback.diff

quote from the patch:

# 1) Stops scrollback files growing too large by fixing the file-shrink code.
# 2) Puts a "Display scrollback from previous session" into the Setup GUI
#    (logging section) so people can turn this off without typing commands.

I find this rather useful as currently with a log being several megabytes big, xchat needs a couple of minutes to login on all networks and finally let me start conversation in channels if this new "scrollback" feature is turned on (which unfortunately is the default).

Added in -r2, and bumped straight to stable, since this is an important fix.
