It's not a collision it the literal sense, but having several packages fighting over /etc/services is probably not a good idea. The ebuild of net-misc/ndtpd-3.1.5 contains the following code, which should be deleted: if ! $(grep 2010/tcp /etc/services >/dev/null 2>&1) ; then cp /etc/services ${T}/services cat >>${T}/services<<-EOF ndtp 2010/tcp # Network Dictionary Transfer Protocol EOF insinto /etc doins ${T}/services fi /etc/services will collide with baselayout, and therefore other packages shouldn't install this file (this was just discussed in the gentoo-dev ML). Also, IANA has registered port 2882 for ndtp. (FYI: app-emacs/lookup did the same, and we have just removed this piece of code there.)
