Comment 2 Paul de Vrieze (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-26 11:44:12 UTC
According to the webpage it does not offer gentoo support, so as long as it doesn't I don't think we should include this ebuild
Comment 3 boris64 2004-09-05 15:48:25 UTC
hi folks ;)

i didn't dry this tool by myself, but now it finally
seems to support gentoo linux.

-> source: http://knetworkconf.sourceforge.net/
 "Changes:
- Ported to run as a KControl Module.
- Major UI redesign.
- Added support for BlackPanther OS, Conectiva Linux, Gentoo Linux, FreeBSD and Slackware Linux.
  Credits for Conectiva linux support goes to Helio Chissini de Castro from Conectiva.

Change the SRC_URI in the attached ebuild to get 0.6.1:
SRC_URI="mirror://sourceforge/knetworkconf/${P}.tar.bz2"

knetworkconf-0.6.1.ebuild

As this hasn't been changed for a while and works perfectly with gentoo i think it is adequiete to now add to the tree.

Also note that is now part of the official KDE 3.5 distribution, if my understanding be correct: "10/08/2005: Today KNetworkConf was moved from kdereview to kdeadmin module in
both main trunk and KDE 3.5 branch in KDE svn, so yes, it will be part of the
next KDE release (and from now on). In this next version Wireless support has
been greatly improved and profiles support is almost finished, it will be ready
for KDE 3.5. http://knetworkconf.sourceforge.net/"

They also support gentoo now,
KNetworkConf works now in 13 different platforms:

* BlackPanther OS
* Conectiva Linux
* Debian Linux
* Fedora Linux
* FreeBSD
* Gentoo Linux
* Mandrake Linux
* OpenNA Linux
* Polish Linux Distribution
* Red Hat Linux
* Slackware Linux
* TurboLinux

Reopening this.
Comment 8 Kalidarn 2006-08-07 19:43:55 UTC
Ack, this doesn't work to well with the configs being in /etc/conf.d/....

it wants to put them in /etc.

This causes major problems as this is no longer the standard for gentoo, causing you to have warnings. Probably best not used in that case.
