Description Michael Sipior 2003-04-14 15:07:16 UTC
Hallo,

Running teTeX 1.0.7-r12, mpost fails to function on test documents, dying with
the error:

This is MetaPost, Version 0.641 (Web2C 7.3.1)
I can't find the mem file `mpost.mem'!

Fortunately, there is a simple fix (well, simple now...:) MetaPost must be
initialised, and the resulting file placed in the appropriate place:

tanelorn# cd /usr/share/texmf/metapost/config
tanelorn# inimpost mpost
tanelorn# cp mpost.mem /var/lib/texmf/web2c/
tanelorn# mktexlsr

That fixed things on my system. Hopefully, this can be fixed in the latest and
greatest teTeX ebuild.

Cheers,

Mike Sipior

this works for me with tetex-2, any chance upgrading fixes it for you ? on the whole the layout of tetex-2 seems a lot more solid than 1.

sorry, this bug seems to be isolated, and inactive. please reopen if it still
causes problems.

this bug was a problem for me, but Mike's tips solved my problems.

The move to teTeX 2.0 appears to have fixed this problem. Many thanks!
