Description Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-13 16:06:22 UTC
I installed a system and installed CUPS later. I then added the cups USE flag globally and did a --newuse world rebuild.

At that point, printing worked from some apps, but not ones using the GTK+ print dialog. The printer did not appear on the dialog.

The solution was to re-merge gtk+ after installing cups. During compilation I saw a compilation flag being used, something like:

-DGTK_PRINT_BACKENDS="file, cups"

And now printing works fine.

I think we should add a cups USE-flag to depend on cups itself.

18:26 < EvaSDK> dsd_: about gtk and USE=cups
18:26 < EvaSDK> I think there a bug still opened about circular dependency if
                you do this
