I cant set the homepage either by draging and droping the url link onto the toolbar on the home button nor through edit > preferences. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Drag and drop link unto the home button
2.or edit through the edit > preferences 
3.the homepage address will stay blank and if you type the url in it, it will disappear and you can also click the use current page and etc

Actual Results:  
Nothing

Expected Results:  
Be able to set homepage

Well, so try with a fresh profile and without any plugins. Works perfectly fine here.

I just installed gentoo 2007.0 not long ago, like 2 days ago and it installed firefox during emerge gnome-light and only plugins i have in firefox is flash but i did it without using the USE flags.

Well, as said above - create a *new* profile and try there. Also try with mozilla-firefox-bin if it still doesn't work.
