Proc-ProcessTable-0.38.ebuild

Description Erik Swanson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-12 06:50:32 UTC
This is an e-build for the perl module Proc::ProcessTable.

"This module is a first crack at providing a consistent interface to Unix (and
maybe other multitasking OS's) process table information." (From the readme)

Proc::ProcessTable is needed to install LiveJournal (the server, not a client).

This e-build should probably be added as dev-perl/Proc-ProcessTable.

Erik,

Is there a forthcoming ebuild for livejournal as well? I don't see it in portage (or anything related to blog client tools that would be relevant). As a rule, we do not add perl modules that don't satisfy dependancies outside of dev-perl (without good reason, anyway).
There is a tool within portage, a fixed version pending an upcoming release of portage (the version that went with the last portage had mistakes in it) that will allow you to install arbitrary perl modules and at least retain their information within portage if that was your goal. Please advise,

Michael

I had no real intention of developing an ebuild for LiveJournal, as it'd be quite hard to do right (it's kind of an unpackageable, like fx Horde). A friend wanted me to install LJ on his server, so I wrote these ebuilds (bug 19194, bug 19196, bug 19301, bug 19303, bug 19304, bug 19305) so I wouldn't have perl modules lying around untracked by portage. As the aforementioned script should suffice for this, it may be wise to ignore these ebuilds and close the bugs.

This is done (fills another bug request as well, bug 21791 for a new package.

already done (i hate these required fields sometimes)
