Yeah, you can wait until nVidia releases fixed drivers. *** Bug 191913 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Does it works with 100.14.11 ? (In reply to comment #4) > Does it works with 100.14.11 ? > I think that yes, but this version does not support my video card, and i'm receiving another error. *** Bug 192117 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #4) > Does it works with 100.14.11 ? No im voting here in the hope somebody from upstream will get off their ass and decide to do the customer service part of their job. this crap is beyond a joke. *** Bug 192153 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #8) > im voting here in the hope somebody from upstream will get off their ass and > decide to do the customer service part of their job. this crap is beyond a > joke. > If you can't wait for upstream here's the quick'n'dirty workaround emerge --nodeps nvidia-drivers startx -- -ignoreABI I know this really should be fixed with a new driver-version... Bad. (EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the GLX module; please check in your X (EE) NVIDIA(0): log file that the GLX module has been loaded in your X (EE) NVIDIA(0): server, and that the module is the NVIDIA GLX module. If (EE) NVIDIA(0): you continue to encounter problems, Please try (EE) NVIDIA(0): reinstalling the NVIDIA driver. Folks, could you take the debate to forums.gentoo.org please? This is not a discussion forum. Nvidia 100.14.19 released today is compatible with xorg-server-1.4. Should have blocked <=x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-100.14.11, xorg-server-r1 blocks the compatible driver. (In reply to comment #13) > Nvidia 100.14.19 released today is compatible with xorg-server-1.4. > > Should have blocked <=x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-100.14.11, xorg-server-r1 > blocks the compatible driver. > How does this help this bug? Is Nvidia now supporting 96xx generation drivers with 100.14.11 or not?, if not, we still have to wait for a 96xx family compatible version ( if nvidia can be bothered releasing one ). I pitty those in the 7xxx tree :/. http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/100.14.19/README/appendix-a.html A little observation I made. The Important Stuff is at the bottom. Note a reference to 96.43.xx now instead of 1.0-96xx, and noting that there is currently no 9643 i can get my hands on, Im presuming its not far from arriving, so maybe not all is lost :) --- 100.14.11 +++ 100.14.19 @@ -95,7 +95,7 @@ <td>0x0091</td> </tr> <tr> -<td>GeForce 7800 GTX</td> +<td>GeForce 7800 GT</td> <td>0x0092</td> </tr> <tr> @@ -163,7 +163,7 @@ <td>0x00F5</td> </tr> <tr> -<td>GeForce 6800 GS/XT</td> +<td>GeForce 6800 GS</td> <td>0x00F6</td> </tr> <tr> @@ -283,6 +283,10 @@ <td>0x0194</td> </tr> <tr> +<td>Tesla C870</td> +<td>0x0197</td> +</tr> +<tr> <td>GeForce 7350 LE</td> <td>0x01D0</td> </tr> @@ -395,14 +399,26 @@ <td>0x0299</td> </tr> <tr> -<td>GeForce 7600 GT/Unknown GPU</td> +<td>GeForce 7600 GT/GeForce 7600 GT</td> <td>0x02E0</td> </tr> <tr> -<td>GeForce 7600 GS</td> +<td>GeForce 7600 GS/GeForce 7600 GS</td> <td>0x02E1</td> </tr> <tr> +<td>GeForce 7300 GT</td> +<td>0x02E2</td> +</tr> +<tr> +<td>GeForce 7900 GS</td> +<td>0x02E3</td> +</tr> +<tr> +<td>GeForce 7950 GT</td> +<td>0x02E4</td> +</tr> +<tr> <td>GeForce FX 5800 Ultra</td> <td>0x0301</td> </tr> @@ -571,10 +587,18 @@ <td>0x0402</td> </tr> <tr> +<td>GeForce 8400 GS</td> +<td>0x0404</td> +</tr> +<tr> <td>GeForce 8600M GT</td> <td>0x0407</td> </tr> <tr> +<td>GeForce 8700M GT</td> +<td>0x0409</td> +</tr> +<tr> <td>GeForce 8500 GT</td> <td>0x0421</td> </tr> @@ -671,7 +695,7 @@ <td>0x014A</td> </tr> <tr> -<td>Quadro FX 540M/Quadro FX 540M</td> +<td>Quadro FX 540M</td> <td>0x014C</td> </tr> <tr> @@ -783,6 +807,10 @@ <td>0x039E</td> </tr> <tr> +<td>Quadro FX 370</td> +<td>0x040A</td> +</tr> +<tr> <td>Quadro NVS 320M</td> <td>0x040B</td> </tr> @@ -795,6 +823,14 @@ <td>0x040D</td> </tr> <tr> +<td>Quadro FX 570</td> +<td>0x040E</td> +</tr> +<tr> +<td>Quadro FX 1700</td> +<td>0x040F</td> +</tr> +<tr> <td>Quadro NVS 140M</td> <td>0x0429</td> </tr> @@ -810,13 +846,17 @@ <td>Quadro FX 360M</td> <td>0x042D</td> </tr> +<tr> +<td>Quadro NVS 290</td> +<td>0x042F</td> +</tr> </tbody> </table> </div> <p>Below are the legacy GPUs that are no longer supported in the unified driver.
