mpi4py provides MPI support to run Python scripts in parallel environments. It is constructed on top of the MPI-1/MPI-2 specification, but provides an object oriented interface which closely follows the standard MPI-2 C++ bindings. Almost all MPI-2 features are available provided that the underlying MPI implementation supports them.
