Description D. Stiefe1maier 2007-08-14 14:22:09 UTC
In Inkscape 0.45.1 some menu entries are not accessible. They show a message like
Verb "DialogDisplay" unbekannt
(Google for "inkscape verb unknown" for related source code)
I assume, the German substitue string for those entries are missing. What makes it worse is, that those entries are inactive, so I just can't use them unless i find out what keyboard shortcut they have.
However, I guess it is not a problem of the 0.45.1 release. I had the same thing in the previous versions and always hoped it will go away with the next release...
So maybe there is something wrong with updating the language files?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge any inkscape release (in German, maybe other languages)
2. start inkscape
3. open a file menu and be not amused

Actual Results:
some menu entries are not active (grey) and don't show the propper label/text

Expected Results:
show proper labels and perform actions on click

started on konsole gives me this output:
Unable to find: DialogNamedview
Unable to find: DialogDisplay
Unable to find: FileCloseView
Unable to find: DialogsClonetiler
Unable to find: EditTile
Unable to find: EditUnTile
Unable to find: FilePrevDesktop
Unable to find: FileNextDesktop
Unable to find: DialogItem
Unable to find: SelectionGridTile
Unable to find: ObjectToCurve
Unable to find: SelectionOutline
Unable to find: Dialogtext

The translations are broken and this needs to be reported upstream, not to Gentoo. It works perfectly fine w/ locales set to English.
