Summary: emerge kdebase fails with amd64 and kdnssd-avahi

Description Helmut Auer 2007-08-14 06:10:35 UTC
Emerging kdbase 3.5.7-r3 with amd64 fails during linking, because the linker does not find /usr/kde/3.5/lib64/libkdnssd. My system is made with the avahi use-flag. So the libkdnssd is provided by the kdnssd-avahi package, which copies the lib and its links to /usr/lib64.
After copying these files to /usr/kde/3.5/lib64/ emerging kdebase works fine.

Reproducible: Always

Comment 3 Wulf Krueger (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-17 15:55:09 UTC
Please change to the 2007.0 profile and update your system to the latest stable versions and try again.
Comment 4 Helmut Auer 2007-08-17 22:55:20 UTC
For sure, that's not what I will do ;) The system is working fine now, after I manually copied the libs, so I see no need for upgrading everything again :)
Comment 5 Wulf Krueger (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-17 23:59:16 UTC
In that case, I see no need to waste my time on this bug.
Comment 6 Helmut Auer 2007-08-19 09:29:41 UTC
No problem, but maybe it helps someone other to find a solution for this bug :)

What you did is surely not a solution as sidestepping Portage never is. Leaving the bug as it is - unless we get more reports...
