Description Andrew Hurst 2007-08-02 02:34:59 UTC
Since nvidia-legacy-drivers was merged back into nvidia-drivers again, forcing me to use driver version 1.0.7185, instead of 1.0.7184, the driver registry does not respond to settings in /etc/modules.d/nvidia which are designed to enable FW and SBA options in the AGP driver.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update to nvidia-drivers-1.0.7185
2. cat /proc/drivers/nvidia/registry
3. note EnableSAGPBA and EnableAGPFW flags unaffected by options in /etc/modules.d/nvidia

Actual Results:
/proc/drivers/nvidia/registry contains EnableAGPSBA: 0, and EnableAGPFW: 0

Expected Results:
/proc/drivers/nvidia/registry would contain EnableAGPSBA: 1, and EnableAGPFW: 1, as stipulated by the line "options nvidia NVreg_EnableAGPSBA=1 NVreg_EnableAGPFW=1" in /etc/modules.d/nvidia

I think these worked fine in driver version 1.0.7184, but since the ebuild for this has been scrapped, I can't check.

Since this is a closed source driver there is nothing we can do. Please use nVidia's Linux support resources, which include e-mail support at linux-bugs@nvidia.com as well as their forum at http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=14
