Description Rayne Olivetti 2007-07-27 21:34:53 UTC
Though --with-xft is necessary for altering fonts, there seems to be no way though portage to complie with it.

Reproducible: Always

And --with-freetype and --enable-font-backend options, please!

Not exactly. Before marking it as a dup: what're you going to do --with-freetype and --enable-font-backend switches?

Emacs 22.1 supports neither --with-xft, --with-freetype, nor --enable-font-backend as configure options. From its etc/TODO file:

** Add support for rendering antialiased text, probably using XRender/Freetype.

So, unless you expect us to backport major amounts of code from the emacs-unicode-2 CVS branch (which we won't), I don't see what we could do here.
