Which issues in particular? The new version of sky2 found in 2.6.23 fixes the problem of my Marvell NIC randomly dropping connection under load. I would be forced to rmmod && modprobe sky2 to bring the interface back to life. Created attachment 125937 [details, diff]
2.6.22 patch
Please apply this patch against 2.6.22 and see if things improve
Daniel i'm unable to test right now because i left my macbook at home but next week i'll test the patch thanks for your work. I applied the patch to Gentoo-sources-2.6.22-r1 and sky2 still failed. What I've observed is in the transition of .22 to .23 sky2 got a version bump (1.15 to 1.16 I believe) and was marked unexperimental. Seems to be a lot of changes as well searching the git for "sky2", and I believe the changes are from July 9th and onwards. I wish I could be of more help but I know nothing of back porting and kernels. Thanks Created attachment 126105 [details, diff]
patch
There aren't many relevant changes between 2.6.22 and 2.6.23-rc1, it's just a matter of finding the one(s) that fix your problem. Please confirm again that 2.6.23-rc1 is definitely fixed, because otherwise this is a waste of time. Assuming 2.6.23-rc1 is definitely working fine, please apply the 2nd patch I attached above in addition to the one I posted earlier, and see if it helps. see above comments |
