Hi,

currently anopes initscript doesn't have a dependency for ircd. I have net-irc/unrealircd installed an by a look at unreal's initscript I can see that it has a "provide ircd" line in depend() function. But anope's initscript has no "need ircd" line.
How about adding this line to anope's depend() function?

This is not needed, since you are not required to run anope on the same machine as you run your IRCD.
Use can have anope running on one machine, and your ircd on another, and just link them,
