Try w/ MAKEOPTS="-j1"; on that note, emerge --info output is required in bugs. 'MAKEOPTS="-j1" emerge esound' -> works for me, no compiler errors anymore. Why is this setting required? I guess 'emerge --info' output is not required anymore. If not, please tell me.
