Description Todd Rowan 2003-04-01 08:46:39 UTC
It appears that the variable for the compiler is not being set or is not
included, causing bash to complain that a compiler option is not recognized as a
command.

See http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=44323 for a good description of the
problem as well as other tests. I didn't create that thread, but the problem on
my machine is identical, including the success of the manual make execution.

My system is 2.4.20-gentoo-r1 (I know, I know, security...) and gcc 2.95.3. My
compile flags are "-march=1686 -O3 -pipe". Local USE is "mysql -pdflib". Please
let me know what additional information you need, if any.

please rsync and try again
if this also fails, try -r2

an other solution is to remove -march OR -mcpu
CFLAGS='-march=athlon -mcpu=athlon -O3 -pipe'
