It's hard to figure out why, but there's clear problems.
I see a lot of:
../../config/cf/X11.tmpl:$line-number: warning: "No" is not defined

In any event, after a merge (which is "successful), you run startxdfb and it doesn't run.

*NOTE* You have to do this without any X installed, otherwise startxdfb will start your installed X version which is *not* built on directfb.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Clean out all working X implementations
2./usr/bin/emerge xdirectfb (either one of the ebuilds will do)
3.startxdfb

Actual Results:  
xinit, xauth, and various other X utils aren't found

Expected Results:  
X on directfb ought to have started.

Please, attach complete emerge.log here together with emerge --info and reopen then.
