It seems there is a bug with unmasking of 3.5.7 in portage. Forum post detailing the bug:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. unmask all kde packages
2. emerge -pvt kdeartwork-meta


Actual Results:  
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "~kde-base/kdeartwork-sounds-3.5.7".
(dependency required by "kde-base/kdeartwork-meta-3.5.7" [ebuild])


Expected Results:  
The dependencies should be satisfied. 

I looked at http://packages.gentoo.org and indeed there is no kdeartwork-sournds-3.5.7, latest is 3.5.6
