dnprogs-2.39.ebuild

Description scott lorberbaum 2007-07-10 21:13:40 UTC
This is the first ebuild for the dnprogs, or DECnet userland utilities.

Along with this ebuild should be a couple of configuration files that are patched into the source with the dnprogs-2.39-linuxconf.patch.

The patch dnprogs-2.39-usrlocal.patch is used in conjunction with the USE flag "uselocaldir" to install the program in the /usr/local dir instead of /usr.

The patch dnprogs-2.39-nokerneldnh.patch is used in conjuntion with the USE flag "nokerneldnh" to build the source from the included dn.h file in the downloaded sources and not the included dn.h file that is included in the kernel sources. Some people have problems compiling with the kernel dn.h file.

I suggest net-misc/dnprogs but i'm not sure if this is the most suitable place for it.

dnprogs-2.39-usrlocal.patch for installing into /usr/local not /usr

with use flag uselocaldir this patch can be used, otherwise its not used and everything is installed in /usr as per make install.

dnprogs-2.39-nokerneldnh.patch for not using the kernel's dn.h file

with use flag nokerneldnh then the sources dn.h file is used during compile, otherwise the kernels dn.h file might be used, depending on the check_kernel.sh script in the sources scripts dir.

dnprogs-2.39-linuxconf.patch for adding config files for gentoo

add's specific gentoo config files which are not in the source for dnprogs right now, but may be added to the sources later.

dnetconf -- conf file for dnetd to be put in /etc/conf.d

this file is renamed and copied into /etc/conf.d/dnetd as a configuration file for the /etc/init.d/dnetd script.

dnetd -- startup script for gentoo

this script is copied to /etc/init.d/dnetd to used with rc as a startup script for the dnetd service. its conf file can be found in /etc/conf.d/dnetd.

dnprogs-2.39-nokerneldnh.patch for not using the kernel's dn.h file

USE flag nokerneldnh does not exist anymore and patch is auto-applied. User has no need to choose which dn.h file to use.

(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug)
'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached
to this bug.
This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the
main tree.
Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild.

Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild
submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely
manner. There are simply too many new packages.

Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The
sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to
commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry
into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this
and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =)

Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us.
We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time.

Thanks,
On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team,
Jeremy.
