Fixed in cvs, thanks. I made vim depend on USE=ncurses to determine which library to use. please readd dependency: I just saw vim complain about it on the ppc livecd. I had ncurses in my USE for the cd. emerging libtermcap-compat again solved the problem. This is probably an issue that is going to be seen on GRP x86 too, so I'm cc release Pieter Pieter, could you be more specific about the problem you had with the current setup? I haven't heard any other complaints about this dependency (or lack thereof). Resolving with NEEDINFO until more information can be provided.
