Description John Hunt 2007-07-10 16:06:38 UTC
I use Xinerama with three monitors on two graphics cards. An ATI X800 dual
dvi card which runs two of the monitors, and an nvidia that does the third.

On moving the mouse over the boundry from the primary to secondary monitor, both connected on the ATI card, the mouse pointer remains the same as it was set based on the application on the primary monitor. It does not change at all until you move back to the primary monitor where it begins to behave normally.

(Example, if your last pointer on the primary monitor was a resize window pointer, it will remain as this on the secondary monitor until you go back to the primary.)

See this thread for some details: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-4137579.html

It was broken before 8.34.8 when it got fixed and fine up until 8.37.6 when it broke again.

john

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge the bad driver version (8.37.6 or 8.37.6-r1)
2. restart xdm
3. move mouse onto secondary monitor

Actual Results:
The mouse pointer remained as it was on the primary monitor.

Expected Results:
Changed the mouse pointer to accurately represent what it should be based on the application

We cannot fix binary-only stuff, sorry. You'll need to complain to ATI.
