Description Nils Kneuper 2007-06-19 14:28:05 UTC
Gutenprint 5.1.3 is out. Renaming the ebuild should be enough to make it work.Seems to be a bugfix release mainly improving Canon compatibility.

Reproducible: Always

Suggest renaming media-gfx/gimp-print past -5.0 to media-gfx/gutenprint to reflect the name change.

Indeed, a rename made it work, at least enough to get my Canon Pixma MP530 working, which lacked black print before the update.

Renaming to gutenprint is bug 144623 and not immediately related to this version bump here.

I've tried both the cups 1.2 backend and the gimp 2.2 plugin from both 5.0.1 (latest stable version) and 5.1.3 (latest development version) on both x86 and amd64 by just renaming the current 5.1.2 ebuild, and they seem to work just fine. In fact they are the first versions ever that *do* work fine with my printer (Canon PIXMA iP4000)...

Personally I'd love if 5.0.1 replaced 4.2.7 as stable and 5.1.3 replaced 5.1.0/5.1.1/5.1.2 as ~arch, but in the meantime I've got it working in my overlay, so I'm in no big hurry...

well, michael complained to me by mail about this bug hanging around - so I just commited it. Thanks for filing :)
