Description Nils Ohlmeier 2007-06-18 10:24:30 UTC
When I load a file containing Diameter requests I get the following error messages "The file '/usr/share/ethereal/diameter/dictionary.xml'doesn't exist.".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load a pcap file with Diameter request into wireshark-0.99.5
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Error message, see above.

Expected Results:
No error message.

Sorry, I'm not sure if this an upstream bug, or caused by Gentoo installation.

Workaround: create a symlink /usr/share/ethereal -> /usr/share/wireshark

Thank you for report.
Take a look at Preferences -> protocol -> Diameter. Seems that you have wrong value in Diameter XML dictionary, but I do not know where this wrong value could come from... Optionally you can just edit ~/.wireshark/preferences and set correct path to dictionary.xml there. Please, reopen bug if I'm wrong.
