Both Ruby 1.8.5 and 1.8.6 have been updated with patches. Here's the announcments:

I am pleased to announce that the first bug fix release for Ruby 1.8.6
has been released.

This release includes some fixes made upon Ruby 1.8.6, the latest stable
release.

1.8.6_p36 is now in cvs, thanks for reporting.
