Version 1.4 has been out for over a week now and is leaps and bounds better than the 1.1.x series.  Updated ebuilds for zabbix-server, zabbix-agent, and zabbix-frontend would be great.  For detailed compilation instructions (in case there are issues) their manual is excellent. http://www.zabbix.com/downloads/ZABBIX%20Manual%20v1.4.pdf  Section 3.4 is entitled "Installation from Source."
