When emerging kde-meta for KDE 3.5.7 there is an error:

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "~kde-base/kapptemplate-3.5.7".

There's no kapptemplate-3.5.7 on the tree. Presumably it didn't change from 3.5.6.

kde-meta-3.5.7 has a dep on kdesdk-meta-3.5.7, which in turn as the following on the rdepend tree:
  $(deprange 3.5.6 $MAXKDEVER kde-base/kapptemplate)
This means that 3.5.6 will satisfy the kde-meta deps.

Are you running the stable or the testing branch? Did you mask/unmask kde-meta-3.5.6 depends? Please attach the output of emerge --info and emerge -uDpvt kde-meta
