Description theroot 2007-06-03 15:51:45 UTC
Using the boot option dodmraid, I was able to load and view my raided partitions. The problem is when I go through the text based installer and the graphical installer, at the partitioning/fstab setup phase.
It does not list /dev/mapper/* as a device to choose from! It only gives me the options of sda and sdb, the physical devices in my raid array.
So I can't install on my system, with the installers anyways..

Any relevant info:

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot : gontoo dodmraid
2. Run the installer
3. Get a couple screens over to the partitioning section.

Actual Results:
I couldn't see mapper as an option..

Expected Results:
Listed mapper, and all of my partitions within! Can't possibly install or edit on my raided partitions.

BIOS NVRaid on MCP55 chipset. Asus A8N-E mobo. 2x SATA drives in raid-0. AMD64 x2 5200. Gentoo 2007.0 live-cd.
/dev/mapper/ has all of my partitions listed, so dmraid has loaded and worker properly.

That's because the installer doesn't support dm raid, md raid, lvm2, etc. at this point. It's not a bug. It's a lack of a feature. Patches are welcome!
