Okay, I found something helpful: The bug seems to be related to sysfs and xorgs behaviour when using it. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=422077 Scroll down to Jim Watson's reply dated Sat, 05 May 2007 08:08:09. So I unmounted /sys and tried again -- et voila, it works. Probably something for the sparc-faq on g.o?
