version 1.6 is available upstream, could you please add an ebuild?

Leonardo, please try if simply renaming the ebuild to the new version works.

whoa, late reply.

i just tested building (dont have emacs on this box) and it _does_ build cleanly, even with the --as-needed patch for 1.5 (seemed to apply cleanly)

Aaaaaand it does work.

You can add a renamed ebuild and a renamed as-needed patch, and put it in portage :)
