Hi, here is an ebuild for the demo of Penumbra: Overture, a first-person adventure game with graphics that look like Doom 3.

I got the game to start on amd64, but it crashed soon after.

the following link suggests that penumbra expects gcc 4.2 libs.

Oops, ignore that USE flag. The full version is a 300mb download.

Lol ;D. Are u going to buy the game Paul? Is there any information I can provide that might be helpful? For starters, the full game uses the nix installer (looks very polished) and installs by default in the /home/$username/PenumbraEp1 folder

I see you've added a ~amd64 flag. I'm on amd64 and can't get it working. has anyone got this working?

on another note... I want the box but its windows only :-( (and no patch...)

The ebuild for the registered version is in bug #179733.

If anyone has the game crash right after the initial loading screen, its because of a missing file that frictional forgot to add to the install. they've fixed the issue, but not all mirrors have updated yet (specifically, filefront.com).

see http://frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1115&pid=9039&#pid9039
and http://frictionalgames.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=1080
for details.

also, 3ddownloads.com's copy seems to have issues, as two downloads resulted in the same erroneous checksum.
