This is what I get when I try to run setxkbmap:- tony@G2 tony $ setxkbmap Couldn't interpret _XKB_RULES_NAMES property Use defaults: rules - 'xfree86' model - 'pc101' layout - 'us' Segmentation fault tony@G2 tony $ tony@G2 tony $ setxkbmap Couldn't interpret _XKB_RULES_NAMES property Use defaults: rules - 'xfree86' model - 'pc101' layout - 'us' Segmentation fault tony@G2 tony $ which version of xfree? On further investigation I think this might be a problem with the Xvnc that I am using as it does not happen using X from the computer main console. Right. Seemant, who does Xvnc ? I'm sorry I think I may have been wasting your time. I am using Xvnc from Alan Hourihane's xf4vnc project, which is based on the XFree86 version 4 code. I hadn't realised that I have this on _all_ my Gentoo machines and thought that the problem related to other versions of Xvnc as well. I have advised Alan of the problem. Not a package in the tree. |
