Description Luca Longinotti (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-12 13:10:30 UTC
net-www/apache-1* was finally masked!
To do that without breaking the tree (at least I hope so ;) ), I had to package.mask the following packages too:

# Other packages depending on Apache 1.X
=dev-lisp/cl-imho-1.3.2
=dev-lisp/cl-modlisp-0.6
=dev-lisp/cl-tbnl-0.8.9
=dev-perl/AxKit-1.6-r2
www-misc/libapreq
# Other packages depending on libapreq
=dev-perl/HTML-Mason-1.26
=www-apps/Apache-Gallery-0.6

I suggest the following course of action for each package, you can fix it yourself or just tell me to go ahead, note that if packages are not updated in a month, they will be removed alongside Apache-1*.

=dev-lisp/cl-imho-1.3.2
This is the only version of cl-imho and already masked, I suggest to remove it from the tree fully.

=dev-lisp/cl-modlisp-0.6
This is the only version of cl-modlisp, I suggest to remove it from the tree fully or add a new version which supports apache2/mod_lisp2.

=dev-lisp/cl-tbnl-0.8.9
Newer versions of cl-tbnl correctly support apache2/mod_lisp2, I'll open a keywording bug to get the keywords up-to-speed.

=dev-perl/AxKit-1.6-r2
This is the only version of AxKit, I suggest to remove it from the tree fully or add a new version which supports apache2/mod_perl2/libapreq2.

=dev-perl/HTML-Mason-1.26
Newer versions of HTML-Mason correctly support apache2/mod_perl2/libapreq2 and have already the correct keywords, I'd suggest to remove this ebuild version.

=www-apps/Apache-Gallery-0.6
Newer vresions of Apache-Gallery correctly support apache2/mod_perl2/libapreq2, I'll open a keywording bug to get the keywords up-to-speed.

Thanks for the help, best regards, CHTEKK.

All Fine. Thanks very much for this.

Adding bug 106301, as the docs-team really needs someone to 1) update the apache2 configuration information in the doc (it's still setup only for 1.x) and 2) review phreak's mini-patch to see that it is correct; it's a good place to start.

Otherwise, I'm afraid we'll have to either remove the document or mark it as unmaintained/deprecated. None of us in the GDP knows enough apache to do the updating ourselves. We desperately need help in updating the procedures, file paths, etc.

Apache 1* was successfully removed from the tree, closing this, thanks for all the help!
Best regards, CHTEKK.

Why was this bug closed when there are three still unresolved bugs blocking it?

Especially bug 106301; we really need help updating the docs for apache 2.x!
