I'm just doing a fresh Gentoo install. I'm coming to install kde. As a dependency of kde-meta win32codecs are installed, too. And as a dependency shall be installed gcc-3.3.6-r1 even if I have already installed gcc-4.1.2 and I don't want to install the old gcc-3.3.6-r1.

I guess it's because of a bad default for virtual/libstdc++-3.3* which is a dependency of win32codecs.

This should urgently be changed so that gcc-3.3.6-r1 doesn't need to be installed on a fresh Gentoo installation.
