There is a VCR1 codec for linux x86 available from the XAnim ftp site at ftp://ftp.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/pub/soft/graphics/xanim/vid_vcr1_1.0_linuxELFx86c6.xa.gz

What makes you say so? media-video/xanim is still in Portage and this bug unhandled.
