See the debian/copyright file included in the tarball: savelog is licensed under the smail general public license, which is not mentioned in the ebuild's LICENSE field.

I added the SMAIL license to the tree and adapted the current debianutils ebuild accordingly. I assume no legal matters stand between our redistribution of savelog and our users now. :)
