*** Bug 175717 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Can you reproduce this problem on the latest development kernel, currently 2.6.21-rc7? (In reply to comment #2) > Can you reproduce this problem on the latest development kernel, currently > 2.6.21-rc7? > unfortunaly yes...I've tested with 2.6.20.7 and 2.6.21-rc7 and I've got the same problem. For the moment I keep 2.6.19-r5 in order to use my quickcam messenger's micro jerome@laboussole ~ $ uname -r && ls -l /dev/sound/ && cat /proc/asound/cards 2.6.21-rc7 total 0 crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 12 avr 26 2007 adsp crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 4 avr 26 2007 audio crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 3 avr 26 2007 dsp crw-rw---- 1 root audio 14, 0 avr 26 2007 mixer 0 [V8237 ]: VIA8237 - VIA 8237 VIA 8237 with ALC655 at 0xc800, irq 20 Please attach dmesg from an affected kernel, where the usb device has been plugged in. dmesg and /proc/bus/usb/devices from both kernel
Hi and thank you very much for your help,
As you can see /proc/bus/usb/devices shows that the camera has no audio driver
..."01(audio) Sub=01 Prot=00 Driver=(none)" but snd_usb_audio is loaded
Please attach your 2.6.20 kernel .config and show the output of "uname -a" while running the affected 2.6.20 kernel. Created attachment 117339 [details]
