Description Jeff Singleton 2007-04-20 13:59:04 UTC
On the last 3 fresh installs from stage3 - I have seen where no matter what my LOCALE or LANG setting, firefox is being installed and compiled using Japanese as the default language.

All of the menus and all of the words are in Japanese. I cannot read Japanese. My system is English it was all of the tarballs were pulled from an English ftp site.

So why is my Firefox suddenly in Japanese?

Only work-around I see so far is to manually download the bin from Mozilla's ftp.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge mozilla-firefox-bin from a stage3 install using tarballs and distfiles from Georgia Tech's mirror.

Actual Results:
Firefox in Japanese

Expected Results:
Firefox in US English like EVERY other app on my system.

Post `emerge --info` and the output of `emerge -pv mozilla-firefox` and `emerge -pv mozilla-firefox-bin`.

Reopen after posting that.
