Description Cristi Magherusan 2007-04-20 09:34:48 UTC
First issue;
If the java USE-flag is missing the compile process fails with the following error message:

/usr/lib/openmp/libexec/omniDriver: line 1120:  5614 Segmentation fault      ${jBack} --DOMPC_DIR=${ompcDir} --DOMPC_TEMPLATE=${template} --DOMPC_TMP=${omniTemp} ${miscOpt} ${1+"$@"}

After enabling the java USE-flag I get the following java-related error:

Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

I found a workaround by commenting the lines from /usr/lib/openmp/template/system.conf where minJavaMem and maxJavaMem were defined.

Fixing(for the upstream):

1)It should be made to work fine without the java USE-flag or erase the java USE-flag and make it compile by default with java support included.

2)Correct the Heap limit errors or simply eliminate those settings from the config, and use java's defaults.

Reproducible: Always

not a base-system package [anymore] as it really doesnt make sense in this herd

SpanKY: Please add maintainer-needed@gentoo.org in such cases in future. :)
