After 180k data transfered the rsync connection dies.

Sent an email to Mate Wierdl informing him.
Removed from rotation.

checking in today produced the following:

kurtl@x5 trashme $ rsync -avz 141.225.37.221::gentoo-portage/ ./
receiving file list ... ERROR: out of memory in string_area_new buffer
rsync error: error allocating core memory buffers (code 22) at util.c(232)
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (179463 bytes read so far)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(165)

no response from admin.  server is still down.  removing from zone file and access log on rsync1.us.gentoo.org.
