This notice even doesn't make sense; it checks for .gz only plus ecompressdir takes care of this on-the-fly later on anyway; should be removed. This is fixed in svn r6270:6272. I thought the idea was that ebuilds /must/ install uncompressed manpages, but that the point of uncompressing later is so that portage handles broken ebuilds gracefully. We currently have support for automatic decompression of files with Z, gz, and bz2 extensions. the stance we're taking currently is that {Z,gz,bz2} will automatically be decompressed ... any other thing, your package should be decompressing it This has been released in 2.1.2.3. |
