didn't work for me... I'm using openoffice-bin 2.1.0. should I find it on the Extensions List?
Comment 6 Serkan Kaba (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-05 21:06:34 UTC
I guess the OOO plugin works only with SuSE OOO. But the console app works. (Should we just install that then?)

I know this is an old bug but the solution lies here:
http://katana.oooninja.com/w/odf-converter-integrator

They have a source version specifically for any distribution. It would be nice to get an ebuild for this but I think OOo 3.0 is going to support it natively, although I am not certain.
Comment 8 Paul Kronenwetter 2009-08-23 21:44:42 UTC
OOo 3.0 does support it natively, but the odf-converter-integrator does a better job. Any thoughts about re-doing this ebuild as odf-converter-integrator? I haven't looked into it enough to know what would be involved.
Comment 9 John Simmonds (overfuse) 2010-01-19 17:07:32 UTC
The bug for the ebuild to merge odf-converter-integrator by OpenOffice Ninja is here:

http://bugs.gentoo.org/288857

Well this bug is for odf-converter by Novell.

In bug #288857 (for odf-converter-integrator), Tomáš Chvátal commented:

> This request is obsolete and as such i am closing it.
> Just use internal filter from libreoffice that is nowdays more advanced.

I believe the same is true here.
