Description Vadim Zborovskii 2007-03-11 20:10:15 UTC
A lot of ebuilds for dev-lang/ifc were removed from Portage recently, only ebuild for ifc-9.1.040 remained. However, it is impossible to fetch this version for free. The last version which can be fetched is ifc-9.1.036. Please re-add ebuild for this version.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge ifc

Actual Results:
These are the packages that would be fetched, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

!!! dev-lang/ifc-9.1.040 has fetch restriction turned on.
!!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded
!!! manually. See the comments in the ebuild for more information.

!!! The following are listed in SRC_URI for ifc:
!!! l_fc_c_9.1.040.tar.gz

!!! Fetch for /usr/portage/local/lover/dev-lang/ifc/ifc-9.1.040.ebuild failed, continuing...

!!! Some fetch errors were encountered. Please see above for details.

   dev-lang/ifc-9.1.040

<don't know where to fetch this file from. Intel provides license and download for non-commercial use, but not for this version>

Expected Results:
I expect version of ifc binary for which can be fetched freely.

Eh, you've misunderstood the issue... This never was freely downloadable, first of all.

https://registrationcenter.intel.com/EvalCenter/EvalForm.aspx?productid=652

Fill in the form, note the serial # somewhere, read the email, go to the link, select proper version in the form, download it (Full Product) and stick to ${PORTDIR}/distfiles, emerge then. You can download 9.1.040 just fine.

Thank you for information on how to get 9.1.040 binaries. I really made a mistake and as I see now, one can also download 9.1.040 with non-commercial license.
However, a lot of old binaries can be fetched without any registration from Intel FTP site:
ftp://download.intel.com/software/products/compilers/downloads/
May be it can still be a reason for re-addition of ebuild.
