Description A. Person 2007-03-11 18:01:40 UTC
My Gentoo router can restart net.ath0 in turbo mode no problem, but booting the system with net.ath0 in the default runlevel in turbo mode hangs. I have this in my /etc/conf.d/net:

iwpriv_ath0=(
       "mode 3"
       "turbo 1"
)

and I've tried it without "mode 3" as well.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. reboot
2.
3.

Have you tried this without AP mode?

I have a system that hangs in AP mode with no turbo set

Sorry, that should have been asking:

Have you tried this without Turbo mode?

I need more coffee ;-)

Downgrading to:

net-wireless/madwifi-ng-0.9.3.1
net-wireless/madwifi-ng-tools-0.9.3.1

Worked for me :-)

Does this still occur with 0.9.4? You haven't really given much info since the initial report, not much that I can go on here. Unfortunately, the machine that I have that has a madwifi card for an AP runs BSD, not Linux, so I can't test turbo mode at all.
