Hardware is a Sager 8887 laptop with an internal 802.11b miniPCI card.

1.4rc3 liveCD will hang during kernel boot with an insmod error on 
orinoco_pci.  Adding nonet to boot options did not help.

1.4rc2 liveCD booted fine

ok, newest livecds have latest orinoco drivers, better detection (hopefully :) )
and more options to totally disable all auto detection so you can 
get booted
